ARTIVISM FOR IMPACT
The Artivism for Impact Program is dedicated to nurturing creative intellects who can seamlessly blend their artistic talents with a commitment to social justice and community engagement. Our program focuses on developing well-rounded artists who are capable of asking critical questions, finding innovative solutions, telling compelling stories, and collaborating effectively with others.
CAPSTONE PORTFOLIO PROJECT
A key component of The Obsidian Institute’s Artivism for Impact Program is the Capstone Portfolio Project. This project requires students to create a comprehensive portfolio that showcases their artistic talents, intellectual growth, and commitment to social justice. The Capstone Portfolio must be completed prior to The Obsidian Institute’s advancement ceremony for Junior Cohort students advancing to the Senior Cohort or prior to graduation for Seniors graduating from 12th grade.
We are committed to ensuring that all students, including differently-abled students, have the opportunity to fully participate in and benefit from our program. Our inclusive approach provides the necessary accommodations and support to help every student thrive creatively, intellectually, and professionally.

We are dedicated to cultivating critical inquiry change agents. Through our arts-centered curriculum, students learn to use their creativity to explore complex issues, challenge the status quo, and advocate for change.

Our program is designed to revive revolutionary justice-oriented engagement by encouraging students to create art that addresses pressing social issues. We empower our students to use their artistic voices to highlight injustices and promote equity.
